Turnus Film AG was founded in 1959 and is one of the pioneers in the Swiss film landscape. In 1989 Hans Syz took over the company. Anita Wasser and Michael Steiger joined the company in 2015. The independent Turnus Film AG, based in Zurich, develops and produces today exclusively feature and documentary films for cinema and television.

history

In 1959, Hans-Peter Roth-Grieder and René Gröbli founded Turnus Film AG in Zurich. Two years later, the company moved to Gutenswil in the Zurich Oberland, where the production rooms were located in a farmhouse and a 300 m 2 studio (Studio Gutenswil) in a barn. Over time, more image and sound studios and workshops were added.

In addition to the production of feature and industrial films , the company developed into a pioneer in advertising film production . Turnus Film produced the first commercials in Switzerland.

In 1989 Hans Syz took over the company from Hans-Peter Roth. Under his aegis, the entire infrastructure was renewed, and Turnus Film developed into an internationally active advertising film production company. In 1991 the advertising and commissioned film area was merged with Absolutfilm AG by Reiner Roduner; Since then, the resulting Absolutturnus AG has been responsible for this area.

In 2015, Anita Wasser and Michael Steiger joined Turnus Film as co-owners and partners. Both came from the production company C-Films , where they u. a. the year before that, they jointly produced the feature film De Goalie bin ig .

Today, Turnus Film AG exclusively develops and produces feature films and documentaries for cinema and television.
