An ink cartridge is a container filled with ink that is inserted into fountain pens and supplies the ink required for writing.

In the barrel of most fountain pens for ink cartridges there is space for two cartridges, one being active and the second being a reserve that can be used quickly. Some manufacturers also offer cartridges that can hold about twice the amount of ink and take up the space of the reserve cartridge.

In the case of fountain pens, Parker and Pelikan compatible formats have prevailed, but there are also other makes of ink cartridges such as ink cartridges. B. Refill

In addition to being used primarily in schools, fountain pens are highly regarded by friends of handwritten texts; Various ink manufacturers offer a wide variety of colors, which are often only supplied in glass barrels. In addition to ink converters, used ink cartridges can also be refilled. For this purpose, cartridges that have been rinsed out with water and whose connection is undamaged are filled with the respective ink by hand using a syringe and cannula , directly before being inserted into the fountain pen .
