description
The lake has a circumference of about 3.4 km and a depth of about 18 m. The water surface is about 31 hectares . The Tweelbäker See acts as a retention basin . The owner of the lake is the Wüsting entertainment association.
The Tweelbäker See is not an official swimming lake. On the west bank there is a berth for the Oldenburg yacht club, which is used by young sailing enthusiasts. For friends of beach volleyball, a sand court has been set up on the east bank. Nearby, the Tweelbäke civic association looks after a village community facility with a grill hut and boulodrome. On the north-eastern shore of the lake an old sheep's cove is built, which reminds of the earlier agricultural use of the heather. The loop around the lake is about 4 km long. It is appreciated by joggers, walkers and cyclists. In 2010, plans to build a water ski facility on the lake were announced.
Transport links
The connection of the Tweelbäker See with public transport is ensured with the bus line 302 of Oldenburger Verkehr und Wasser GmbH with the destination and final stop Borchersweg (stop Oldeweg). There is no motorway exit in the immediate vicinity of the lake. The lake can be reached via the Oldenburg-Osternburg exit from the A 28 and Oldenburg-Hafen from the A 29 .
