Two Cars, One Night is a New Zealand short film from the year 2004 .

action

In front of the bar and restaurant “Te Kaha Hotel” , the two brothers Ed and Romeo have to wait in the car in the parking lot while their parents have fun inside. You wait forever. Ed is reading a book about Crazy Horse and is distracted by it. But Romeo is bored. Suddenly another car stops next to them, from which the parents get out and leave their daughter Polly waiting. She begins to watch the two boys, so that Romeo feels provoked and answers with insults and the finger . But she too knows how to defend herself and scolds back in the same way.

But time just doesn't go by. Polly and Romeo are bored. Romeo walks over to the other car and starts a conversation with her. After being gruff at first, he switches over to insulting his brother and thereby befriends Polly. But Ed is far too absorbed in his reading to be interested. But at least that's how Polly and Romeo become friends, which means that Romeo spends the time waiting with Polly in the car until her parents come back. When she leaves, she gives him a small diamond ring and he looks after her sadly when she says goodbye.
