Tye Smith (* 3. May 1993 in Raleigh , North Carolina ) is an American American football poker players. He plays the cornerback position for the Tennessee Titans in the National Football League (NFL).
college
Smith played college football at Towson University for the Towson Tigers between 2011 and 2014 . There he played in all 50 games in which he was able to set 311 tackles , force 6 fumbles and conquer 4.
NFL
Smith was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft as the 170th player by the Seattle Seahawks . On May 7, 2015, he signed a four-year contract that totaled $ 2.447 million. He made his NFL debut in week 3 against the Chicago Bears . He was released on September 3, 2016, and five days later he was signed up for the Seahawks Practice Squad . He was released again on September 20, 2016. He spent the rest of the season on the Washington Redskins Practice Squad .
On January 16, 2017, the Tennessee Titans signed him . There he initially played mainly in the special teams, before he made his first start on the penultimate matchday and also played most of the snaps on the last matchday . On the fifth day of the game he had scored his first interception against the Miami Dolphins . On July 31, 2018, he was placed on the Injured Reserve List by the Titans after injuring himself in training. On March 13, 2019, they gave Smith a new one-year contract.
