The Tyne River is a river in the northeast of the Australian state of Tasmania .

River course

The river has its source on the northern slopes of Three O'Clock Hill , a mountain east of Ben Lomond National Park , about 54 km east-northeast of Launceston . From there it flows north through completely unpopulated area and flows into the South Esk River about 9 km east of Upper Esk .
