Tynisha Keli

Tynisha Keli Soares (* 28. July 1985 in Massachusetts ) is an American pop - singer and songwriter .

Life

Keli grew up in New Bedford and came from a very poor background. Her father was murdered when she was one year old. She left her home at the age of 14 and moved to Los Angeles for her music career, where she began to sing professionally at the age of 15. Keli currently resides in Atlanta .

Career history

In 2002 her career began in a girl band called "Gyrlz Society". The band got a record deal with MCA Records . At the end of 2002 the contract expired and later the band members went their separate ways. In 2006 she managed to get a record deal as a solo artist with Warner Music Group . In 2006 she recorded her first album, "The Chronicles of Tk", which was released in 2009. The album received little support from the label and was only released in Japan, where it made it to number 12 on the Japanese album charts. Their first single "I Wish You Loved Me" was released in 2007, the accompanying video a year later. The single made it to number 25 on the Japanese singles chart. The second single "Shatter'd", however, made it into the top 10.

At the beginning of 2010 Keli left Warner because of insufficient support, but is working on her second studio album "The 5th Element", which was released in the same year and reached number 36 in the Japanese album charts. In mid-2010 it was announced that she was under contract with "Eight72 Entertainment". The singer released three different singles that were released on iTunes for specific continents . The first single "Next Time" was only released in the United States , the second single "The Right Way" in Europe and the third single "Love Hurts" in Japan , where it made it to number one.
