The Tyrrell Glacier is a glacier on the north coast of South Georgia . It flows from the Allardyce Range in a northerly direction to the head end of Moraine Fjord , where it meets the Harker Glacier .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it together with the Harker Glacier in 1982. It is named after the British geologist George Walter Tyrrell (1883–1961) from the University of Glasgow .
