Between Pesach Frank
Zwi Pesach Frank (* 1873 in Kovno , Russian Empire ; † December 10, 1960 in Jerusalem ) was a Jewish scholar who had lived in Eretz Israel since 1891 , Posek and chief rabbi of Jerusalem for several decades .
Life
Since 1907 he was Dayan in Jerusalem and played a key role in the establishment of the Israeli Chief Rabbinate and in the appointment of Kook as the first Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi.
He made many fundamental halachic decisions, which were often adopted as the official guideline of the Jerusalem Chief Rabbinate.
Raw Frank is buried on the Har HaMenuchot. Thousands of people attended his funeral, during which all Batei Din remained closed and the Israeli cabinet suspended its work to allow ministers to attend.
