The station Großfeldsiedlung is an underground station of the Wiener subway line U1 in the 21st district , Floridsdorf . It is located directly below Kürschnergasse and extends between Dopschstrasse and Gitlbauergasse. The Großfeldsiedlung municipal housing complex , which gives the station its name, and Großfeldstrasse were named in the 1960s after the former field name Das große or Lange Feld .
The station was opened on September 2, 2006 with the commissioning of the section of the U1 between the Kagran and Leopoldau stations . Elevators and fixed stairs take you from the central platform to Dopschstrasse and Gitlbauergasse.
You can change to bus lines 28A and 29A in the direction of Floridsdorf train station . The Großfeldsiedlung is located around the station, an urban residential complex built between 1966 and 1973 with around 30,000 residents.
