Uda Kuburalage Nilani Rathnayake (born August 8, 1990 in Gallella ) is a Sri Lankan athlete who specializes in the obstacle course .

Athletic career

UK Nilani Rathnayaka gained her first international experience at the 2016 South Asian Games in Guwahati , where she won bronze medals in the 1500 meters and the 5000 meters . In 2017 she took part in the obstacle course at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar and could not finish her race. In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and finished sixth there in 9: 54.65 minutes. The following year she finished fifth in the obstacle course at the World Military Games in Wuhan in 9: 48.38 minutes and then won the South Asian Games in Kathmandu in 4: 34.34 minutes over 1500 meters and in 16: 55.18 minutes also over 1500 meters 5000 meters.

In 2013, 2015 and 2016 as well as in 2018 and 2019, Rathnayaka became Sri Lankan champion in obstacle course. She also won the 5000 meter championship in 2016 and in the 1500 meter run in 2018 .
