The UFC Paderborn (officially: Universitäts-Futsal-Club Paderborn eV ) is a futsal club from Paderborn . The team played in the first-class Futsalliga West from 2015 to 2018 .

history

Since the late 2000s there have been futsal courses at the University of Paderborn . In 2013, work began on building a team that could win an international tournament in Lille , France , without any match practice . A year later, the final at this tournament was only just missed. The team then decided to take part in official championship games. At the same time, the Football and Athletics Association of Westphalia introduced a two-track Westphalia league as the second highest division. There, the Paderborn team secured the championship and promotion to the first-class WFLV futsal league with a 5-4 win against the Black Panthers Brackwede . In addition, the team won the Westphalia Cup with a 1-0 final victory over UFC Münster .

As a newcomer, the UFC immediately finished fifth in the 2015/16 season , but had to relegate a year later . Curiously, the Paderborn team remained first class, as the club's second team became champions of the Oberliga Westfalen, thus giving the UFC a place in the Futsalliga West. But the descent was only postponed. At the end of the 2017/18 season , the Paderborns were relegated penultimate.

More teams

The second team started playing in the third-class Westfalenliga in 2015. With a 7-1 final win over FC Gladiators Rheine , the UFC reserve champions were promoted to the Oberliga Westfalen. There the team became champions straight away. The UFC women's team won the WFLV Futsal Cup, which was played for the first time in 2016, with a 6-4 win over Holzpfosten Schwerte . A year later , the team joined the Futsalliga West and immediately became runner-up behind UFC Münster. In 2018 the Paderborn women were runner-up again. Home venue is the sports hall 1 of the University of Paderborn.
