UN depot library
A UN Depository Library (also depository of the United Nations , Eng. United Nations Depository Library is) one of the United Nations recognized library , whose job it is, publications and documents of the United Nations as well as publications of the UN agencies to collect and open to the public close. The UN Depot Libraries are part of a United Nations global library system managed by the Dag Hammarskjöld Library .
history
The United Nations Library , based in New York City , was founded in 1946. The first UN depot libraries were founded the following year in collaboration with local libraries. After the accidental death of Dag Hammarskjöld , the United Nations Library in New York was renamed the Dag Hammarskjöld Library on November 16, 1961 . The Depository Libraries are part of a global information network of the United Nations. This network now includes more than 350 libraries in 134 countries.
