history

USU was founded in 1977 as "Udo Strehl Unternehmensberatung" and has its headquarters in Möglingen near Stuttgart . The company has been involved in IT control since 1988. The knowledge management since 1995, is another focus. The company went public on July 4, 2000 in the wake of the euphoria on the Neuer Markt at € 17.17. In March 2002, USU AG and OpenShop Holding AG merged to form the USU Openshop Group. This was renamed USU Software AG in 2003. To expand the product range, "OMEGA GmbH" was taken over in 2005, "LeuTek GmbH" in 2006 and "Aspera GmbH" in 2010. With the takeover of "Aspera GmbH", the company became "the world's leading provider of asset management system software ". At the end of 2012, the USU Group took over the majority in “BIG Social Media GmbH” based in Berlin. In 2013 "Aspera Technologies Inc." was founded in Boston. A new research area on the subject of industrial big data was also created in 2013. In mid-2015, the acquisition of "SecurIntegration GmbH", which specializes in SAP license management and is based in Cologne. The latter was merged with "Aspera GmbH" in 2016. The full service agency for digital media and IT, unitb technologies GmbH, has been part of the USU Group since the beginning of 2017, and in May 2017 the French company "EASYTRUST SAS" was taken over for the first time. EASYTRUST, which was renamed USU SAS at the end of 2017, is a specialist in data center inventory and Oracle license management. In spring 2018, the USU AG subsidiary changed its legal form and has been trading as USU GmbH since March 28. With unymira, USU GmbH created a new business area in 2018 that focuses on the digitization of business processes in service and bundles the portfolio of the four previously independent USU areas: BIG Social Media, Business Solutions, KCenter and unitb technology.

Products

USU's Valuemation division supports companies with comprehensive, ITIL- compliant solutions for strategic and operational IT and enterprise service management. With the ITSM software suite Valuemation, customers control all service processes, create transparency about their service costs and their IT infrastructure and can thus plan, monitor and bill their services. Valuemation is rated as a global leader by analyst firms and certification companies.

USU's unymira division offers digital "customer first solutions" and thus supports service organizations by providing knowledge across all communication channels. The product Knowledge Center is a knowledge database that is mainly used in call and service centers, among others. a. also for the uniform authority number 115. The portfolio is supplemented by self-service solutions such as SmartLink and KnowledgeFirst as well as the Knowledge Scout advice system, which supports service technicians in the problem-solving process. There is also the BIG CONNECT application for social media management.

The subsidiaries Aspera GmbH, Aspera Technologies Inc. and USU SAS deal with software license management and offer the products SmartTrack and LicenseControl (SAP, Salesforce, Oracle) worldwide.

In addition to the products mentioned, the LeuTek applications ZIS-System, ZISGUI and ZISSLM for business service monitoring as well as the myCMDB software from OMEGA for IT service management are part of the USU Group's overall portfolio.

The research department at USU Software AG deals with the development and testing of new technology modules for IT and enterprise service management. In the area of ​​industrial big data and industrial smart service, several projects funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy were won. From this, a new USU business area for big data analytics developed in mid-2017 with Katana.
