The locomotives of the UZ series ТЭП150 (German transcription TEP 150 ) of the Ukrsalisnyzja (UZ) are diesel locomotives for freight and passenger train service with a gauge of 1,520 mm (broad gauge). They stand as a further development of a model series that began with the ТЭ109 , which is very well known in Europe and can mainly be described as a further development of the SŽD series ТЭ125 , which was delivered in 1974 in one copy.

history

A total of four diesel locomotives were produced by the locomotive in 2005, all of which are currently in use in the Kremenchuk depot of the Piwdenna Salisnyzja . As of 2012, no further delivery of locomotives was planned. The reasons were, on the one hand, the lack of financing options for the Ukrzalisnyzja and the further planned electrification of railway sections.

Technical characteristics

Due to the modified head shape, the locomotive essentially corresponds to the structure of the ТЭ109 . On the outside, in the area of ​​the bogies and the vehicle body, there are many elements that are reminiscent of this series. Inside, too, apart from the design of the driver's cab and the equipment with the micro-recess system with the drive system, many elements have been adopted that still come from the proven ТЭ109 . The locomotive has a power rating of 600 kW to supply the trains with energy, which makes it ideal for driving passenger trains in various climatic conditions.

As with the ТЭ109, all power and auxiliary equipment of the diesel locomotive is housed in a lightweight box. Removable sections of the roof allow free assembly and disassembly of the main parts of the power equipment. The driver's cab is heat and sound insulated, it has air conditioning and a driver's desk with an additional display that is standardized with other series. The front window of the machine is made of high-strength safety glass. A microprocessor system is used on the locomotive for management, control and technical diagnostics. The electrical heating of the train is similar to that of the ТЭП70БС .

Power unit

The perfected 4-stroke diesel engine of the type 5D 49 was used as the diesel engine, the output of which could be increased to 3,100 kW (4,216 hp) compared to the previous peak output of 4,000 hp in the DR series 142 to 3,100 kW (4,216 hp) by changing the charging process. Otherwise not much has changed in the power transmission scheme; The traction unit for alternating current is connected directly to the diesel engine and supplies the traction motors with direct current via the rectifier unit . The diesel engine and traction unit are mounted on elastic support units on the engine support frame.

The traction unit consists of the traction generator and the auxiliary generator, both of which are mounted in a housing. Connected to the auxiliary generator is the rectifier unit, which supplies the power supply to the passenger trains with a voltage of 3 kV direct current and 600 kW rated power. In addition, the auxiliary generator supplies the excitation of the traction generator and the drive of the three-phase motors of the auxiliary machines.

The exhaust air purification systems from the diesel engine are designed in two stages.

The systems for cooling the diesel engine are also implemented in two stages. The first stage concerns the water cooling of the diesel engine, the second stage the cooling of the oil and the supply air of the turbocharger in a heat exchanger. The water from both stages is cooled in the cooling chamber, which is carried out by air from three motor fans. The motor fans are switched on or off depending on the water temperature.

The vehicle part of the locomotive also has few changes to the proven ТЭ109 . It consists of two pivotless three-axle bogies with individual drive for the pairs of wheels and suspension of the traction motors after the supporting frame suspension . The power from the traction motor to the drive axle is realized on one side with resilient transmission members. The arrangement of the traction drive motors in the bogie is one-sided, which increases the coefficient of friction . The two-stage cushioning of the locomotive enables the locomotive to move easily.
