Red Storm Entertainment is a subsidiary of Ubisoft , which specializes in the development of computer games , most of which are based on the works of the author Tom Clancy .

history

Shortly after his great success with his novel The Hunt for Red October , Tom Clancy met British Royal Navy Captain Doug Littlejohns in 1985 and used his technical advice for his next book, The Storm .

In 1996, Clancy decided to start an entertainment software company and again asked Littlejohns for advice. He eventually became President and CEO of the company.

At that time, Virtus Corporation was a partner in the company. After entering into a partnership with the Pearson publishing group , Red Storm published its first title "Tom Clancy's Politika" in November 1997. A novel with the same name was included with the game.

Red Storm Entertainment's second game marked the start of their Rainbow Six brand , Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six . A few weeks after the game was released, Tom Clancy published a novel of the same name.

In 2000, Red Storm Entertainment was bought by Ubisoft. After Littlejohns' departure, Steve Reid is the boss of the subsidiary.
