Udo Bausch

Udo Bausch (born January 13, 1956 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German politician ( non-party ). He has been Lord Mayor of the city of Rüsselsheim am Main since January 1, 2018 .

Life

After completing his degree in administrative management at the City of Frankfurt am Main from 1972 to 1977, Bausch studied law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main from 1978 with a focus on public law and public commercial and administrative law, which he did in 1982 with the first graduated from the state examination in law. Parallel to his studies, he worked for the city of Frankfurt am Main. This was followed by a legal clerkship at the Hessian Minister of Justice , which he completed in 1986 with the second state examination. He then worked from 1986 to 1989 at the Institute for Public Law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University. Until 1993 he was the personal advisor and head of the Frankfurt departmental offices for culture and science, personnel, organization and public order and was the managing director of the working group on security and appearance. From 1993 he was head of the corporate consulting as well as real estate and location management department of the Frankfurt Economic Development Corporation, which he left in 2010 and became an alderman and department head for economy, conversion, employment development, public safety and order, social affairs, schools and sports in the city of Bad Kreuznach . In 2017 he finished his work there to become mayor of the city of Rüsselsheim am Main . In a runoff election against the then incumbent Mayor Patrick Burghardt, he achieved 50.7 percent of the vote with a voter turnout of 37.8 percent and has held the office since January 1, 2018.
