Udo Brecht

Udo Brecht (born April 30, 1943 in Postmünster ) is a former German rower .

The two-meter man Udo Brecht from the rowing company Wetzlar was together with Hans-Johann Färber German champion in two-man without a helmsman in 1967 . At the European Rowing Championships in 1967 in Vichy, the two took third place. The following year, Niko Ott , Peter Berger , Brecht and Färber formed a four-man with helmsman together with helmsman Stefan Armbruster and won the German championship title in this boat class. At the Olympic Games in 1968 , the boat took fifth place in the preliminary run and, after two rowers fell ill, no longer competed in the small finals for places 7 to 12. Two years later, Udo Brecht and Lutz Ulbricht reached the final in an uncontrolled two at the 1970 World Rowing Championships and won the bronze medal.
