Udo Hebisch

Udo Hebisch (* 1954 in Welver ) is a German mathematician and university professor at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg . He works in the field of algebra , especially semigroups , half rings and the algebraic methods of computer science .

Hebisch has been director of the Institute for Discrete Mathematics and Algebra at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg since October 1997.

biography

Udo Hebisch was born in Welver in 1954. From 1974 he studied mathematics and computer science in Clausthal , where he graduated in 1979 with a diploma. He received his doctorate in 1984 and his habilitation in 1990. From 1979 to 1993 he was employed as an assistant at Clausthal University of Technology . In 1993 he was appointed professor of algebra at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, where he has been director of the Institute for Discrete Mathematics and Algebra since October 1997. As “managing director” he is responsible for the mathematical café on the edge of the Internet, where he also set up the virtual museum for mathematics and art . Hebisch is co-organizer of the spring academy for mathematics.
