List of rose varieties

The rose variety Uetersen (also 'Zenith') is a shrub rose from the breeder Mathias Tantau and was introduced in 1939 in honor of today's rose town Uetersen , as a thank you for the support in setting up and designing the Uetersen rose garden . This rose has since been forgotten and is therefore one of the lesser-known roses. It is no longer available in European stores and can only be admired in a few parks. Mathias Tantau bred them from the varieties 'Kitchener of Khartoum' and 'Stämmler'.

It is a frequently and richly blooming shrub rose with a bushy and upright growth. In good conditions it can reach a height of over 150 cm. The flower color is predominantly medium red and the up to 7 cm large flowers with up to 16 petals are strongly scented and semi-double. The rose leaves are mostly dark green. They bloom from June to November. It prefers partial shade as a location.

The rose 'Uetersen' is frost hardy to −20 ° C ( USDA zone 6 ).
