The documentary film accompanies six protagonists who grew up and lived in large and small towns in the GDR . The women let the audience participate in their everyday life at that time, in their struggle for self-determination, first love, unconventional family planning as well as conflicts with the SED and the law, overall the search for personal (love) happiness. It shows the loneliness of outsiders, the social taboos of homosexuality , the compulsion to conform and the adjustment in a repressive state.

Production and publication

The film was produced by Sunday Filmproduktions GmbH from Halle / Salle in coproduction with the ZDF editorial team - Das kleine Fernsehspiel . On October 20, 2019, the film premiered at the Lesbian and Gay Film Days Hamburg and won the audience award “DOKULA” for the best documentary film.
