Ulf Kaack (born June 3, 1964 in Neumünster ) is a German author and journalist. He writes regularly for the magazines Oldtimer Traktor and Last & Kraft at VF Verlagsgesellschaft Mainz. In addition, he works as a permanent advisor and editor for the French publisher Hachette Collections in Nanterre / Paris. From July 2012 to June 2015, Kaack was the editor in charge of the magazine Traktor Classic (GeraMond Verlag Munich). He is an honorary member of the board of directors of the Föhrde Club in Kiel, JazzFolkKlassik in Syke eV (JFK) and the Lions Club Klosterbach-Delme. Ulf Kaack lives and works in Bassum .

He has special expertise in the field of sea rescue, in particular the history, technology and structures of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked People (DGzRS). He deals intensively with this topic in the book series "Rausfahren when others come in" published by Peter Kurz Bremen. It now comprises seven volumes.

After completing his apprenticeship as a savings bank clerk and a subsequent marketing degree at the Bremen Business and Social Academy, Ulf Kaack was responsible for the operational marketing of a large north German credit institution from 1986. For many years he worked in the area of ​​press and public relations at the DGzRS , was also employed as an editor for a high-circulation daily newspaper in Lower Saxony and, as head of the area of ​​press and public relations, was part of the management of the Aller-Weser-Klinik in Verden and Achim. Since 1987 he has also worked as a freelance writer and journalist as a writer and photographer.

He is the author and co-author of various book titles, often with maritime, nautical and technical backgrounds. Other topics covered by him are aerospace, automotive technology, fine arts and music in the feature section, golf, economy, climate research, nature and hunting. He often appears as a reviewer of concerts, music productions and books. He also works as a photographer to illustrate his books and journalistic articles. At the Frankfurt Book Fair 2012, Ulf Kaack was awarded the ADAC Motor Book Prize 2012 for his title “Borgward - the Compendium”.
