Ulf Hendry Sandström (born April 24, 1967 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player .

Career

Ulf Sandström began his career as an ice hockey player at MODO Hockey , for whose professional team he was active from 1986 to 1990 in the Elitserien , the highest Swedish league. The winger then spent two years with his league rivals Luleå HF . From 1993 to 1996 he was on the ice for Bodens IK in the second-rate Division 1 . For the 1996/97 season he moved to the Finnish SM-liiga , in which he first played for KalPa Kuopio and then Tappara Tampere . In the 1997/98 season he joined the Bodens IK in Division 1 before ending his career at the age of 31.

International

For Sweden , Sandström took part in the junior division at the U18 European Junior Championship in 1985 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 1987 . At the U18 European Championship in 1985 he won the gold medal with his team and the bronze medal at the U20 World Cup in 1987. In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary , where he won the bronze medal with Sweden.
