Ulf Schott (born May 5, 1970 in Dieburg ) is a German football functional and former player .

Player career

Ulf Schott spent his entire playing career at SV Darmstadt 98 . He had his first appearance here in the 2nd Bundesliga on October 20, 1990 in a 5-2 win against TSV Havelse . For the 1992/93 season, in which Darmstadt was relegated, he is not listed in the squad list, nor is there any data for the 1993/94 season. He then played for Darmstadt more often and scored the goal in the 1: 2 against SpVgg Ludwigsburg 07 on March 4, 1995 . He made his last game at the age of 26 on December 4, 1996 when he lost 2-1 to SG Egelsbach .

Managerial career

Ulf Schott has made a name for himself above all as a talent promoter. The qualified sports scientist has been working for the German Football Association since 1997 and has been director since 2012. After the poor results at the 1998 soccer world championship in France and the 2000 European soccer championship in the Netherlands and Belgium, the owner of the DFB-A license was instrumental in establishing the successful and internationally recognized talent promotion with 366 bases, 55 performance centers and 36 Elite schools responsible. As a league manager, he campaigned for the further development of the 3rd league , which was able to establish itself as the third professional game class in Germany.
