Ulf Tippelt

Ulf Tippelt (born May 29, 1963 in Ebersbach ) is a German sports scientist and sports official .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1981 and completing military service, Tippelt began studying at the German University of Physical Culture (DHfK) in Leipzig in 1983 , which he completed in 1987 with the diploma thesis “To objectify game-specific requirements for blocking depending on the speed and variability of the attack design in men's volleyball “Concluded. In 1990 his doctoral thesis was accepted at the DHfK, the title was "To increase the ability of field defense players to act through situational training: a contribution to the methodology of technical-tactical defense training in volleyball". As an active athlete, Tippelt initially did gymnastics as a child, later he turned to sports games (soccer, handball, volleyball), in the latter sport he played in the second highest league of the German Democratic Republic . Other sporting activities later took place in tennis, cycling and skiing.

In 1991, Tippelt took up the position as managing director or general secretary of the State Sports Association of Saxony . At the beginning of April 2009, he became the sports director of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), having previously belonged to the DOSB advisory board for competitive sports . During his tenure at DOSB, Tippelt was, among other things, Deputy Chef de Mission of the German team at the 2010 Winter Olympics and Chef de Mission at the 1st Youth Olympic Games in Singapore . In September 2011 he left the DOSB as a competitive sports director and was again active as general secretary of the State Sports Association of Saxony. He was chairman of the board of the Sporthilfe Sachsen foundation. At the beginning of 2016 he became a member of the Board of Directors of Dresdner SC . In essays that were published in sports science publications such as competitive sports and the journal for applied training science , Tippelt dealt with the analysis of the Olympic Games from the perspective of German sport.

In April 2015, Tippelt took up the post of director of the Institute for Applied Training Sciences (IAT) in Leipzig  . He was previously on the IAT board.
