Uli Jenneßen
Uli Jenneßen (* 1964 in Korschenbroich ) is a German jazz drummer.
Life
Jennessen played by first drum lessons in the combo of Ali Haurand before getting Gehlen in Dusseldorf lessons with Rolf Drese and Hermann. He began studying languages and philosophy in Düsseldorf and Würzburg. Since 1986 he has lived in Berlin as a jazz drummer. He studied with Jerry Granelli and worked with John Schröder , Aki Takase , Sirone , Billy Bang , Eugene Chadbourne and Gunter Hampel , the LAX group and the Schorsch-Pfister Trio , among others .
Together with Axel Dörner , Rudi Mahall and Jan Roder , he founded the group Die Enttünschung , which debuted in 1996 with an album with compositions by Thelonious Monk . Jenneßen worked on Alexander von Schlippenbach's album Monk's Casino ( Intakt ) in 2003/04 , which deals with Monk's entire oeuvre. He is also part of Alexander Beierbach's Tigers of Love. With Rudi Mahall and Olaf Rupp , he presented his first album as leader, Oljonek , in 2011 .
