Joe Williamson

Joe Williamson (* 1970 in Vancouver ) is a Canadian jazz bassist and improvisation musician.

Live and act

Williamson studied music from 1989 at McGill University in Montreal. From 1992 to 1995 he lived in Amsterdam, since 1998 he lived in Berlin, then in London and now in Stockholm. He has worked with musicians such as Ab Baars , Steve Beresford , Andy Ex , Gianni Gebbia , Vinny Golia , Tristan Honsinger , François Houle , Luc Houtkamp , Peggy Lee , Paul Lovens , Evan Parker and Jon Rose .

He is a member of several bands, including the Tobias Delius Quartet (with Tristan Honsinger and Han Bennink ), the groups Kletka Red by Leonid Soybelman (with Andy Moor and Tony Buck ), trapist by Martin Siewert (with Martin Brandlmayr ), Boombox by Thomas Borgmann and 2012 in Platform 1 , with Magnus Broo , Ken Vandermark , Steve Swell and Michael Vatcher .

He also works in a duo with Olaf Rupp , in various bands with drummer Tony Buck , a trio with Felicity Provan and Steve Heather and with Eugene Chadbournes European Trio .
