Ulla Schmidt (politician, 1942)

Ulla Schmidt (born July 16, 1942 in Kirchhellen-Feldhausen ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Schmidt completed an apprenticeship as a clerk and then worked as a clerk and school secretary. From 1981 to 1996 she was a self-employed clerk. Schmidt is married and has one child.

In 1972 Schmidt joined the CDU, which she represented in the Westerwaldkreis district council from 1974 . In 1994 she became CDU chairwoman in Wirges . From 1987 to 1991 and again from 1992 to 2011 she was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament , in which she represented constituency 6 ( Montabaur ). In the 2006 election , she achieved the highest number of votes nationwide for the CDU.
