Ullrich Dittler

Ullrich Dittler (* 1968 ) is a German sociologist and professor for interactive media at the Faculty of Digital Media at Furtwangen University .

Live and act

From 1988 Dittler studied pedagogy, psychology and sociology at the University of Frankfurt and the University of Munich , where he received his doctorate in 1995 under Heinz Mandl . After working for a large German financial service provider for several years, he accepted an appointment at Furtwangen University in 2000. As a professor for interactive media, he represents the main areas of media didactics , media psychology and e-learning / blended learning .

In addition, Dittler has been Deputy Head of the University's Information and Media Center since 2008 and was also a member of the University Council from 2009 to 2018 . From 2006 to 2018 he was the Senate Commissioner for University Didactics and was also appointed to the Steering Committee for University Didactics of the State of Baden-Württemberg from 2008 to 2020 by the Ministry of Science and Art.

Dittler has published numerous publications on the subject of e-learning / blended learning and has received several awards and recognitions for learning applications for which he is responsible.

Memberships and other activities

Dittler was chairman of the Society for Media in Science (GMW) from 2004 to 2006 and was a member of the editorial board of the GWM series of publications from 2003 to 2011, which he has headed since 2005. In addition, he was Scientific Director of the media education and media psychology-oriented media congress in Villingen-Schwenningen, which took place from 2006 to 2014 .

Together with his wife, Dittler runs a private observatory in the Black Forest for sun, deep sky and exoplanet observation and publishes on astronomical and astrophotographic topics.
