Linus Nirmal Gomes SJ (born September 7, 1921 in Boro Golla ) is Bishop Emeritus of Baruipur .

Life

Linus Nirmal Gomes joined the Congregation of the Jesuits in and received on 21 November 1954, the priestly ordination .

Paul VI appointed him on May 30, 1977 Bishop of Baruipur . The Archbishop of Calcutta Lawrence Trevor Cardinal Picachy SJ consecrated him on November 19 of the same year as bishop ; Co- consecrators were Henry Sebastian D'Souza , Bishop of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar , and Michael Atul D'Rozario CSC , Bishop of Khulna .

On October 31, 1995, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
