history

The diocese of Baruipur was on May 30, 1977 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Ad populi Dei from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Calcutta and subordinated to this as a suffragan .

The diocese of Baruipur includes the district Dakshin 24 Pargana and part of the district Uttar 24 Pargana in the state of West Bengal .
