Ulrich Benzel

Ulrich Benzel (born March 21, 1925 in Neustettin ; † March 30, 1999 ) was a German high school teacher and fairy tale collector.

Benzel in 1954 at the University of Marburg with a thesis on "The village culture of the Sudeten German community Roßhaupt and their changes after the expulsion" to Dr. phil. PhD. He lived as a high school teacher, most recently senior teacher, in Lauterbach (Hesse) .

He collected and published fairy tales , sagas and legends from his homeland Pomerania , the Sudetenland , the Caucasus and other regions.
