Ulrich Bosch (medical doctor)

Ulrich Bosch (born January 22, 1957 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a German doctor specializing in surgery , trauma surgery , orthopedics and sports medicine .

Bosch received his doctorate in Tübingen in 1984. The habilitation thesis was submitted to the Hannover Medical School in 1993 . In 1997 he was appointed as an adjunct professor at the Hannover Medical School. There he worked as a senior physician in the trauma surgery department. Since 2002 he has headed the Center for Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Traumatology at the International Neuroscience Institute (INI) in Hanover. His research focuses on injuries and diseases of the knee and shoulder joints.

Bosch implanted artificial cartilage in knee joints for the first time in the world . Based on its own research and many years of experience in diagnostics and surgical therapy, Bosch is one of the leading experts in the field of soft-tissue-oriented surgical techniques for joint surface replacement. This is a technique that takes the natural function of tendons and ligaments into account and aims at maximum mobility, freedom from pain and stability.
