Archives of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery ( int. Abbreviated Arch Orthop Trauma Surg ) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that from Springer-Verlag is published. The journal was founded in 1903 under the title Archive for Orthopedics, Mechanotherapy and Trauma Surgery by the Würzburg orthopedic surgeon Jakob Riedinger . The title was changed in 1919 under the then editors Hermann Gocht , Fritz König and Georg Hohmann in Archives for Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery, with special consideration of fracture theory and orthopedic-surgical technology and finally in 1978 in Archives of Orthopedic and Traumatic Surgery . Since 1988 (volume 108) the magazine has been published under the title that is common today with twelve issues per year. Mainly works are published that deal with issues of orthopedics and traumatology , as well as arthroscopy and orthopedic sports medicine . All backissues up to 1903 are now available online on the pages of the magazine at Springer-Verlag. Since 2016, the journal has also been represented on social media with accounts on Twitter and Facebook.

The magazine's Impact Factor in 2019 was 2.021.
