Ulrich Burdack

Ulrich Burdack (born January 13, 1982 in Neustadt in Holstein ) is a German opera singer (bass).

Life

Ulrich Burdack grew up in Kiel and came to sing in the Kiel boys' choir . After studying musicology at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel , he moved to Weimar to study singing at the Liszt School of Music . While still a student, he made a guest appearance at the German National Theater Weimar DNT .

He received his first engagement at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck under the directorship of Brigitte Fassbaender , where he made his debut as Sarastro ( Die Zauberflöte ) . After another engagement in Kiel, Axel Köhler brought him to the Halle Opera, where he a. a. Sarastro, Fafner ( Der Ring des Nibelungen ) and Don Alfonso ( Così fan tutte ) sang and could also be seen at the Handel Festival. He is currently engaged at Theater & Philharmonie Thuringia Gera / Altenburg with other important roles in his field such as the title role in Don Pasquale , Sparafucile ( Rigoletto ) , Eremit ( Der Freischütz ) , Osmin ( Abduction from the Seraglio ), Kecal ( The Bartered Bride ) as well as the title role in the opera Rübezahl, which has not been performed for a long time, and the Sackpfeifer von Neisse by Hans Sommer .

In addition to the opera stage, Ulrich Burdack also devotes himself to concert and lieder singing, is closely connected to the works of Franz Schubert and Carl Loewe and has interpreted Schubert's Winterreise several times .

Ulrich Burdack is also behind the fictional character Mr. Burdack from the 3rd floor. Under this name he publishes photos and videos with mostly humorous or cultural content on various platforms.
