Jan-Hendrik Jensch has been leading the choir since February 2020, the junior choir has been directed by Meike Seeger since 2018.

Structure of the choir

The Kiel boys' choir consists of the concert choir, composed of soprano , alto , tenor and bass , and a young choir . The concerts are sung almost exclusively by the concert choir. Since the choir is not a boarding school choir, the singers live with their parents and attend rehearsals in the rehearsal center in Legienstrasse in Kiel two to three times a week.

The rehearsal center is located on the top floor of this building

Concerts

In addition to the annual concerts in spring, summer and autumn as well as the singing of Christmas carols in Advent, the Kiel Boys' Choir performs the Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach every two years . Other recurring appearances will take place at the opening of the Plön Christmas market or as part of the church service in the cattle stables at Gut Schierensee . Every year there is also a concert tour on which the choir presents its repertoire in cities across Germany and abroad.
