Ulrich Cimolino

Ulrich Cimolino (born December 5, 1964 in Altötting , Germany ) is a German non-fiction author and fire director at the Düsseldorf fire department . His non-fiction books mainly deal with topics from the field of operational practice of fire brigades and the standard operational rules . In addition, he often participates in committees in the field of fire services, such as various working groups of the working group of heads of professional fire departments .

Life

Born on December 5, 1964 in Altötting in Upper Bavaria , Cimolino grew up in Pfarrkirchen . There he joined the Pfarrkirchen volunteer fire department in 1981. In 1985 and 86 he did his military service in the Mountain Armored Battalion 8 . There he was trained as a driver for the Leopard 1 . After completing his military service, he began studying security technology with a focus on fire protection at the University of Wuppertal in 1986 , which he successfully completed in 1991. Immediately afterward, he began his training as a fire trainee in the fire brigade Dusseldorf , after he as head of training (until 1998), then from 1997 to 2018 as head of technology and since 1 July 2018 as a staff leader for climate change related was used civil protection and science.

From 2011 to 2012, due to a vacant professor's position, Cimolino held the teaching assignment for the subject of “ protective fire protection ” at the University of Wuppertal in the security technology department. In 2014 he obtained his doctorate (Dr. rerum Securitatis) from the University of Wuppertal.

Cimolino was in 2017 by the German Fire Service Association (awarded in 2018) with the German Fire Department Cross of Honor in Silver awarded.
