Ulrich Diestelhorst (* 1957 in Herne ) is a former German basketball player who played two games for the German Basketball Federation in 1977 as a national player . Diestelhorst played in the first basketball league at SSV Hagen (later Brandt Hagen ) in the 1980s . There he always wore the jersey number 11. In the 1981/1982 season, the team that lost it was in the final round. At the end of the season they finished third in the 1st division. In 1982 he was voted basketball player of the year by the readers of the magazine Basketball . In 1985 he moved to the second division TUS Herten in what was then the 2nd Bundesliga North and ended his career in 1989.
Diestelhorst is currently a teacher for mathematics, sports, art and music at the Holsterhausen Municipal Comprehensive School . As a drummer he plays in the rock band Good Vibration from Wanne-Eickel and in the Gelsenkirchen band All Our Friends Are Dead .
