Beate Jasch

Beate Jasch (born January 16, 1959 in Krefeld ) is a German swimmer and Olympic participant. The 1.65 m tall and 52 kg heavy athlete started for the SSG Saar Max Ritter in Saarbrücken .

She won several German championships:

  • 100 m dolphin: 1976
  • 200 m dolphin: 1976 and 1977
  • 200 m individual medley: 1976

She had her greatest success in 1974 at the European Championships in Vienna . As a member of the 4 × 100 m layer relay (team: Angelika Grieser , Christel Justen , Beate Jasch and Jutta Weber ) she won the silver medal (4: 23.50 min.) Behind the GDR (gold in 4: 13.78 min.) and before Sweden (bronze in 4: 23.90 min.)

Two years later she took part in the Olympic Games in Montreal with the following results in part:

  • 100 m freestyle: 32nd place among 45 participants (with 1: 00.80 minutes in the run-up not among the best 16)
  • 100 m dolphin: 22nd place among 39 participants (with 1: 04.82 minutes in the run-up not among the best 16)
  • 200 m dolphin: 17th place among 32 participants (with 2: 19.19 minutes in the run-up, not among the best 8)
  • 4 × 100 m freestyle relay (team: Jutta Weber , Marion Platten , Regina Nissen and Beate Jasch): Qualified as the eighth best of 14 participating relays for the final, where in 3: 58.33 minutes they again took 8th place.
