Angelika Grieser
Angelika Grieser (born July 14, 1959 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ) is a German swimmer and Olympic participant. The 1.67 m tall and 59 kg heavy athlete started for SV Schwäbisch Gmünd and SSF Bonn .
Her specialty was backstroke . She won several German championships:
- 100 m back: 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1976
- 200 m back: 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1979
She was internationally successful as a member of the 4 × 100 m layer relay .
- Bronze at the 1973 World Championships in Belgrade (team: Angelika Grieser, Petra Nows , Gudrun Beckmann and Jutta Weber ) in 4: 26.57 minutes behind the GDR (gold in 4: 16.84 minutes) and the USA (silver in 4: 25.80 min.).
- Silver one year later at the European Championships in Vienna in 4: 23.50 minutes (team: Angelika Grieser, Christel Justen , Beate Jasch and Jutta Weber). Only the GDR (gold in 4: 13.78 min.) Was faster. Bronze went to Sweden in 4: 23.90 minutes.
Angelika Grieser had no luck at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal . Neither over 100 nor over 200 m back could qualify for the final, and the individual layer relay, which was made up of Angelika Grieser, Dagmar Rehak , Gudrun Beckmann and Marion Platten , was disqualified in the preliminary run.
