Ulrich Hirsch
Ulrich Hirsch (born April 15, 1943 , † April 30, 2005 ) was a German mathematician .
He received his doctorate in 1972 at the University of Düsseldorf with the thesis Open simplizial images on S n and worked as a professor at Bielefeld University until his death .
Ulrich Hirsch worked particularly in the area of foliage . He was one of the most important representatives of this research area in Germany. From the mid-1990s onwards, he became increasingly involved in the practical applications of mathematics and was initially a consultant in a personnel consultancy, then managing director of a management consultancy.
