Ulrich Maier (politician)

Ulrich Maier (born November 12, 1943 in Stuttgart ) is a German local politician.

Life

After finishing school, he completed an apprenticeship for senior administration from 1961 to 1966. Ulrich Maier then worked as a specialist in finance ( treasurer ) in the community of Großaspach and as a personal assistant to the finance mayor of the city of Backnang . In 1969, at the age of 25, he was elected mayor of the municipality of Calmbach . After the merger of Bad Wildbad and Calmbach, he became mayor of Bad Wildbad from 1974. He held this office until 1990. From 1991 he worked as part of the “Expert Service Saxony II” advising Saxon municipalities and in October 1991 founded a municipal consulting company. He ran this company until 2013. In addition, he worked as a freelance municipal and economic consultant.

From 1970 to 1994 he was a member of the Calw district council and from 1970 to 1991 chairman of the Upper Enztal Adult Education Center . From 1985 to 1991 he was President of the Baden-Württemberg Forestry Chamber for several years . From July 3, 1990 to June 25, 1992 he was President of the German Forestry Council .
