Ulrich Meyer (politician, 1732)

Ulrich Meyer (* 10. December 1732 in Hundwil ; † 12. May 1809 Stone ; heimatberechtigt in Hundwil) was a Swiss councilor , mayor and member of the Small Council of the canton of Appenzell Outer Rhodes .

Life

Ulrich Meyer was the son of Ulrich Meyer, councilor, and Katharina Weiss. In 1760 he married Elisabeth Knöpfel, daughter of David Knöpfel, councilor in Schaffhausen . In his second marriage in 1798 he married Anna Barbara Hüninger, daughter of Alexander Hüninger, councilor.

He worked from 1772 to 1777 as councilor and district captain in Hundwil. Then officiated Meyer 1777-1782 as a community captain . From 1779 to 1797 he was a regional builder in Ausserrhoder and from 1782 to 1786 as a regional ensign . From 1786 to 1793 he held the office of governor. From 1793 to 1797 Meyer served as state cap master and in 1799 as president of the community chamber. In 1801 he moved to Stein.
