Ulrich Reuss

Ulrich Karl Reuss (born November 4, 1918 in Reval , † December 13, 1983 in Oldenburg ) was a German veterinarian.

Life

Ulrich Reuss was born in Reval as the son of the businessman Siegfried Reuss. During the Second World War he began as a soldier in the 3rd trimester of 1940 to study veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover and became a member of the Corps Normannia Hannover . In 1947 he received his license to practice medicine . Initially an assistant at the animal clinic in Sarstedt , he became an assistant in November 1947 and a scientific assistant at the hygiene institute at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover in December 1949. In 1948 he was promoted to Dr. med. vet. PhD. In 1953 he moved to the Neumünster Animal Disease Office as a scientific assistant . In 1954 he passed the state veterinary examination in Hanover. In 1955 he returned to the Hygiene Institute at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover as a senior assistant, where he qualified as a Dr. med. vet. habil. habilitated and henceforth read as a private lecturer and later professor. He became director of the animal health department of the Weser-Ems Chamber of Agriculture in Oldenburg.

Reuss published in particular in the field of infectious diseases in animals.
