Ulrich Riemerschmidt Verlag

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ulrich Riemerschmidt publishing was a German publisher who was active from 1939 to 1943.

Ulrich Riemerschmidt founded the publishing house in Berlin on April 1, 1939 . The entry in the commercial register took place in October . The reason for the foundation of the publishing house was the publication of the small font series on contemporary handicrafts workshop report. Published by the Art Service , which appeared in 30 issues by 1943. The foundation was financially supported by Philipp F. Reemtsma .

In May 1940 Riemerschmidt was called up for military service. Thereupon he transferred the publishing house to Antonie (Toni) Müller , daughter of James Loeb and employee at Buchholz. Toni Müller's Berlin apartment and the publisher's premises were destroyed in the air war in 1943. Publishing production therefore ended in 1943, and in 1944 the publishing house operated in Murnau , Toni Müller's hometown.

The publishing house published works by and about Ernst Barlach , Alfred Kubin , Ludwig Kasper and Philipp Harth in the art sector and by Paul Verlaine , Bruno Adriani , Stefan Andres and Ernst Wilhelm Eschmann in the literary sector .

After 1945 Toni Müller, now Toni Kienlechner, wanted to revive Ulrich Riemerschmidt Verlag in Murnau, but was unsuccessful. In 1951 the business was deregistered.

The publisher's archive has not been preserved.
