Ulrich Rochel (born July 29, 1942 ) is a German motorboat racing driver and lives in Berlin.

Career

As a trained car mechanic, he works a lot on his racing engines and often drives with machines that he has designed or converted himself. Rochel has two daughters, both of whom have competed in motorboat races themselves.

After getting a taste of motor boating in 1973 and 1974, he switched to auto-cross sport from 1975 to 1979 . As early as 1978 you saw him in the racing boat again and soon afterwards on the winners' podiums. When he received the highest award, the Silver Laurel Leaf , in the Bad Godesberg Redoute in 1985 , he and his colleagues Jörg Lipinski and Manfred Loth stood in line with Boris Becker .

Sporting successes

Rochel initially started in the sport boat classes SE ( outboards up to 850 cm³), later he achieved success in the racing boat classes OD and OE (outboards up to 700 or 850 cm³, designation from 1986: O-700 and O-850).
