Ulrich Schaffer

Ulrich Schaffer (born December 17, 1942 in Pomerania ) is a writer and photographer .

Life

After the end of the Second World War, the Schaffer family fled to a western zone of occupation . In 1953 the family emigrated to Canada, where Ulrich Schaffer grew up in northern British Columbia . He moved to Vancouver at the age of 18, where he studied English and German language and literature both there and in Hamburg . He then taught European literature at a college for ten years .

Ulrich Schaffer has been a freelance writer, poet and photographer since 1981 . He comes to Germany every year for readings and seminars . The author writes both poetry and prose . He has published numerous illustrated and text books, including large-format and award-winning wall calendars. Texts and photos are typically meditative and close to nature, but also deal with life in general, relationships , psychological-therapeutic aspects , wisdom , astrology and people's search for fulfillment, values ​​and meaning in life .

Ulrich Schaffer has been publishing prose texts and poetry on the online counseling platform "Webseelsorge" since 2001.

Ulrich Schaffer and his wife Waltraud live in Gibsons , on the British Columbia coast. They have two grown daughters.
