Ulrich Schenk (born June 29, 1943 ) is a former German football player who played second division football in Neubrandenburg and Waren (Müritz) .

Athletic career

Ulrich Schenk came to ASG Vorwärts Neubrandenburg at the age of 19 for the 1962/63 season through the company sports community (BSG) Lokomotive Waren and the army sports community (ASG) Staaken . In the second-rate GDR league team , he was only used in four point games, after which he was taken over by ASK Vorwärts Berlin , the top club of the central army sports association Vorwärts . There Schenk played mainly in the reserve team until 1966, while he only played a few friendlies for the league team .

At the beginning of the GDR league season 1966/67 Schenk returned to Vorwärts Neubrandenburg. There he won a regular place as a midfielder, completed 27 of the 30 league games and scored six goals. Schenk was also part of the team in the following two seasons, missing only in a league game in 1967/68. He played the most successful season of his GDR league career in 1968/69, when he played all 30 point games and, at times as a left winger, was the top scorer of the Neubrandenburg army team with eight goals. The 1969/70 season was disappointing for Schenk. For one thing, he was only used in 18 of the 30 GDR league games, and his team was relegated from the GDR league at the end of the season. In the district league , Vorwärts Neubrandenburg was district champion with Schenk in 1970 and immediately returned to the GDR league. Schenk played two more seasons for ASG Vorwärts in the GDR league, but was only used 32 times in 44 league games during this period. As a goal scorer, however, he hadn't lost any of his accuracy. In 1971/72 he scored seven goals, in 1972/73 he was once again the most accurate player on his team with nine goals.

After this season Vorwärts rose again to the district league, whereupon Ulrich Schenk returned to the starting point of his career for the 1973/74 season and joined the BSG Verkehrsbetriebe Waren . He immediately helped her to the district championship title and promotion and played his last GDR league season with VB goods in 1974/75. Of the 22 league games, he completed 13 missions, in which ten goals were again enough to become the top scorer. However, his team could not hold the league and returned to the district league after only a year.

Ulrich Schenk then did not return to higher-class football, where he had played 153 GDR league games within eight seasons and scored 44 goals.
