Ulrich Schmalz
Ulrich Schmalz (born August 26, 1939 in Wissen (Sieg) ) is a German politician ( CDU ).
He has been a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany since 1962. From 1971 to 1990 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . He was a member of the German Bundestag from December 20, 1990 to October 26, 1998 (two electoral terms) . He was elected through a direct mandate in Rhineland-Palatinate. There he was a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the “Tourism and Tourism” and “Economic Cooperation” committees. From 1999 to 2016 he was Honorary Consul of Rhineland-Palatinate for Iceland .
In 1987 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class .
