Ulrich von Veringen
Ulrich von Veringen († January 15, 1200 in St. Gallen ) was abbot of the St. Gallen monastery from 1199 to 1200 . He came from the Count family of Veringer and was probably a son of Count Marquard von Veringen and a brother of Count Heinrich and Manegold von Veringen .
Act
Ulrich von Veringen was elected as provost abbot of St. Gallen on February 4, 1199 . In his short tenure of 49 weeks, the monastery accumulated considerable debts, so that Abbot Ulrich was forced to pledge the monastery courtyards in Romanshorn , Hüttenwil and Elgg and to sell parts of the monastery treasure. At his death on January 15, 1200, the abbey was in debt of 70 pounds.
